On March 10, we will learn whether Oppenheimer, the most-nominated film of the year, sets records at the Academy Awards. The film was a summer blockbuster that powerfully told the story of the race to develop the world’s first nuclear weapon during World War II.  Many moviegoers probably walked away thinking the film showed a snapshot in time – not considering that while Oppenheimer is history, nuclear weapons are not.

What can you do to help?

Tap into the cultural conversation around Oppenheimer and the Oscars to highlight the enduring threat posed by nuclear weapons – and show people that we have the power to #MakeNukesHistory. With 13 Oscar nominations—and 13,000 nuclear weapons in the world—we want people to understand that while Oppenheimer started the nuclear weapons era, we can end it.
