Tri-Valley CAREs, South Carolina Environmental Law ProjectNuclear Watch New MexicoSavannah River Site Watch, and the Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition were honored to be featured at the Nobel Peace Conference held in Oslo, Norway on August 6th, the 80th anniversary of the US atomic bombing of Hiroshima.

Together, we worked for over 3 years to secure a major victory for government accountability by ensuring the public’s voice is heard in the United States’ production of plutonium pits. This outcome highlights how crucial public input is, especially for projects with such devastating, far-reaching consequences.

We’re deeply grateful to the Nobel Peace Center for recognizing the importance of this work, inviting us to create and submit a video and then bringing the issue and our video to a global audience. It’s truly humbling to have been highlighted by such an esteemed entity.
