She is not just a legendary musician. Bonnie Raitt is also a longtime peace and justice activist with ties to clean energy and anti-nuclear weapons groups, including us, Tri-Valley CAREs.
This past Sunday, September 19, 2022, Bonnie invited us to host an informational table at her appearance at Berkeley’s Greek Theater where the amazing Mavis Staples opened the show.
Our prominent display near the entrance to the venue was visited by many of her fans before and during the show. Staffed by Scott Yundt and volunteer Jeremy Davidson, we talked about our mission, and our upcoming virtual community meeting on September 29th about the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Site-Wide Environmental Impact Statement. Several attendees expressed interest in virtually joining us!
Big thanks to Bonnie and her staff for inviting us and making us comfortable despite the early rain drops. The music was lovely and righteous and we are so grateful for the support.
