Dear Tri-Valley CAREs supporter,

As we stand on the cusp of 2025, we pledge to redouble our work to hold the government accountable and prevent spiraling nuclear dangers – including the Project 2025 plans to increase the U.S. nuclear weapons stockpile and move toward detonating a nuclear explosive test in Nevada, which would end a more than 30-year ban (since 1992), open the floodgates to full-scale testing by other nuclear-armed countries, and heighten the potential for nuclear war.

Our plan is to stop those plans in their tracks, using our full “toolbox” of research, community organizing, litigation, advocacy, protest, media outreach, collaboration with colleague groups, and more.

Your tax-deductible donation now will enable us to successfully meet this historical moment. Please give as generously as you can. We thank you – and we know that, together, we can succeed!

GOOD NEWS: Your Gift Now Will be Doubled

We are excited to let you know that if we raise $10,000 in the next three weeks, a family foundation will match it with another $10,000. Your tax-deductible gift in any amount will be deeply appreciated, put to immediate good use – and, now, doubled!

Your generous support really makes a difference at Tri-Valley CAREs. As one of our longtime board members, Janis Turner, so often put it, “Tri-Valley CAREs offers the biggest [nonnuclear] bang for the buck!”

We keep our overhead low, and your gift goes directly into our major programs. (Click here for a sampler of our 2024 accomplishments!)

Tri-Valley CAREs’ programs in the coming year will constrain new nuclear weapons, challenge nuclear budget priorities and prevent “readiness” to conduct a nuclear test, while continuing, as always, to assert our human right to air, land and water that is free of radioactive contamination.

We are also bringing needed attention to the humanitarian impacts of nuclear war by supporting the international ban on nuclear weapons. On Wednesday, January 22, 2025 we invite you to celebrate with us the fourth anniversary of the entry into force of the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons with a sign holding at the gates of Livermore Lab. From all of us at Tri-Valley CAREs, our wish for you is greater peace and justice, and continued good health, this holiday season.

In appreciation,
Scott Yundt, Executive Director;
Marylia Kelley, Senior Advisor;
Raiza Marciscano-Bettis, Bilingual Community Organizer; and,
Our Board of Directors (Loulena Miles, Mary Perner, Gail Rieger, Pat Howell, Inga Olson, Tony Green, Willard Hunter, Pam Richard, Lukasz Wojtaszek, Nick Bastovan, Wilson Wong and Judith Flanagan)
