Did you know that the Corral Fire that burned over 14,000 acres in June started on-site at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s Site 300 High Explosives Testing Range? Or that it burned and/or seriously damaged important cleanup facilities at the Site? Are you interested in connecting with other members of your community who care about this and other issues affecting the environment in and around Tracy?

We are thrilled to invite you to a community meeting we are hosting on these topics and more THIS Thursday, August 29th at 6:30pm. (See flyer above).

We will gather and get to know each other over some dinner (food and beverages provided) from 6:30-7:00pm. At 7:00pm, we will hear from Tri-Valley CAREs staff about the history of bomb testing and waste dumping at Site 300, the ongoing “Superfund” environmental cleanup taking place at the facility with some upcoming community input opportunities, and important details about the Corral Fire.

We will then hear about how the community can engage on these issues by participating in the Tracy Environmental Advisory Committee and how you can get involved. Time will also be set aside to listen to the local environmental concerns of attendees and to allow for questions.

The meeting is intended to build community togetherness to address the environmental issues that the community cares about with the intention of continuing to work together to address these concerns. We hope you can join us. Childcare will be provided!
