Giving Tuesday is here, tomorrow December 3rd! Around the country, Giving Tuesday is acknowledged as an opportunity for collective generosity (and gratitude) in support of important causes. It is a time when many of our supporters choose to make year-end donations to support our work seeking a world with more peace, justice and a healthier environment.
At Tri-Valley CAREs, we count on people like you to support our work on Giving Tuesday. Understanding this, one of our long time foundation funders has offered to match the first $10,000 we raise in our end of the year campaign, which begins with Giving Tuesday!
By donating before the end of 2024, you have the exciting opportunity to have your tax-deductible contribution doubled! Your contribution will go a long way towards supporting Tri-Valley CAREs priorities – from supporting our legal efforts challenging the dual site plan for plutonium pit production for new nuclear weapons, to monitoring clean up infrastructure improvements at Livermore Lab’s Site 300 High Explosives Testing Range, to gaining more support for the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.
Additionally, 2025 will be the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We will soon begin planning a commemoration event outside Livermore Lab for August 2025. If just 125 of our members give $80 – we will reach our match!
A great way to amplify your donation is to go on social media and mention Tri-Valley CAREs with #givingtuesday and a link to this blog – trivalleycares.org/2024/today-is-giving-tuesday-make-tri-valley-cares-a-part-of-your-generosity
Example: I donated to Tri-Valley CAREs today #givingtuesday to support their great work seeking peace, justice and healthy environment. Check them out at www.trivalleycares.org
On behalf of the Tri-Valley CAREs team, I want to thank you for your generosity and ongoing support, and I look forward to our continued efforts challenging nuclear weapons where they start, Livermore Lab.
Peace,
