The annual Good Friday Interfaith Witness at the Livermore Lab will be a hybrid event this year.

You are invited to join the Ecumenical Peace Institute, Livermore Conversion Project, and Tri-Valley CAREs at the Livermore Lab West Gate, at the corner of Vasco and Westgate Drive in Livermore, CA – or join remotely using the Zoom link below.

The event will begin, in person and on Zoom, at 7:45 am on Good Friday, April 7, 2023.

There will be symbolic Street Theatre. A rich liturgical program including an invocation, contemplation of war, call and response, and liturgical dance will be offered. Several musicians will round out the program.

The Rev. Dr. Dorsey Blake will offer a keynote address on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s theme, “Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?”

Marylia Kelley will speak on Livermore Lab’s nuclear weapons programs. Isabella Zizi will honor the ancestors and the land. Betsy Rose, Benjamin Mertz, and Francisco Herrera will inspire peace and justice through song.

The event will call for an end to continued U.S. development of nuclear weapons. No “civil obedience” in the Lab’s gate is planned this year.

If you are coming by car, turn west off Vasco Road onto Daphne in order to park. If you are joining remotely, you can access the Zoom link and more info on the Ecumenical Peace Institute’s website at www.epicalc.org.
