2010 Challenge Grant

UPDATE 9-28-10: WE OFFICIALLY MADE IT! Today we recieved four donations that pushed us over the $15,000 mark for the summer. Thus, we have met the challenge and ALL of these donations will be doubled for a total of $30,000. Huge thanks to all of those who donated to help us meet this challenge.

• shrink the US nuclear weapons complex and budget with effective advocacy to cut funding for new weapons systems and increase funding for permanent dismantling of retired nuclear weapons.
• promote treaties and global disarmament through support for ratification of the new START treaty without proposed "conditions" that would undermine its disarmament value.
• win environmental justice and cleanup in our communities with improved decontamination standards and greater community involvement in cleanup decision-making.
• stop plutonium at Livermore Lab with effective advocacy to remove this deadly nuclear material from Liverrmore and limit the Lab's role in weapons design.
• shine a light on bio-warfare agents with strong litigation to compel the Lab to examine the hazards of genetically modified bio-warfare agents and comply with the National Environmental Policy Act.
